Finally! The sun is back out and it's warmed up a bit. We have had the most beautiful two days with moderate temperatures of about 70 high and a bright and sunny sky.
We let Roomba, the borador, out to play and run off some steam. Yesterday we took the whole fur family to the river to walk. I can't believe how much I needed that.
Today is a vacation, and tomorrow is back to work. J+ has been recovering from sinus surgery and tomorrow he gets his stents taken out. It's been a little fun to get to take care of him, although he doesn't need much help. He's not one for "resting."
Marriage is a funny thing. We're less than two weeks away from our one year anniversary, and it hasn't been an easy year. I'd like to say it's all roses and rainbows but far from it. We've had our share of curveballs thrown our way. If life stood still maybe marriages would be easier but it just felt like things kept going wrong right and left. But it's amazing how those kinds of situations can affect you.
I read somewhere about how hot water can soften a potato, but harden an egg. It's how we react to what we're placed into, that makes all the difference. The same situations can either help you grow closer together or pull you apart.
Throughout the ups and downs of this year, I'm happy to say these situations, though difficult, have only helped grow our bond closer. It's made us take hard looks at ourselves, each other, our priorities, and the future we want to build together.
I am so thankful to have someone to share my life with and who has the patience to share his with me. It's amazing what two people can do if they are in this life together.
