J+ and I are crazy about salsa! We can eat an entire can in one night if you catch us on an bad night. We love it! And I love it because J+ gets himself some veggies. And I just love it!
But, our habit is getting expensive. And honestly, I KNOW we can make our own and save some mulah. So, my search begins for some great homemade salsa recipes and trying them out. (Also, through my searching I can't help to start noticing CANNING and imagine all of the uses I can imagine for it!)
The basic ingredients of salsa:
Roma tomatoes
White onion
Clilantro
Jalopenos
Garlic
Vinegar (Cider for sweet or white distilled)
Other things you can add or do:
Cumin
Green chiles
Boil the tomatoes
Grill the tomatoes
I like this "Super Simple Salsa for Canning" recipe I plan to try soon:
