As you might know, I'm getting married next February so I've been trying to get details wrapped up and what-not. Things are going pretty well, but I admit I am a bit hesitant to lock down a lot of details because its so stupid expensive. But I do have the venue and the dress, and the groom of course, so no matter what a wedding is taking place, haha.
Just sent out my Save-the-Dates so I feel like things are extra official now. There is no turning back! Our registry is all set up. At least to the best of my abilities. These days there are LOTs of registry options out there. I opted for just a couple of your traditional registries (Pottery Barn and Dillard's) then an online registry and a Honeyfund.
I'm pretty excited about the Honeyfund but am not sure yet if anyone will take to it. It is a pretty different concept to just give money instead of a gift. But anything helps when it comes to honeymoon fun!
J+ and I have decided to take a roadtrip to California for our honeymoon and I am excited! Should be an adventure. And hopefully I can get lots of awesome photos! We're planning on hitting Roswell, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and of course, lots of places in California.
Anyways, back to registries. I recommend the Registry 360 from The Knot. I'm sure it has its downsides (you don't actually have an account with each of the stores so returns might be less than convenient) but I am able to register at some of my favorite stores that don't have wedding registries such as Anthropology (LOVE!). Also, I still have a couple registries that are smaller that all lump into the one long list for the 360. We'll have to wait and see how well it works in practice though. The way it works is people make the purchase and then they have to tell the 360 site that the purchase has been made. We will see how that works!
Anyways, I know you can't count on gifts but I am excited to get some nice things I wouldn't be able to buy for myself.
